BKA Registrations

Dear all,
Please ensure you have your BKA registrations updated for the year 2014!
This is vital, and there is no excuse in not registering.

Regards,
Robert

END OF YEAR TRAINING and DINNER

Folks,
Just a reminder that there is a full day's training on Sunday 8th December at Lydd.
This will be followed by a dinner at the Paper Duck, North Street, Ashford, Kent.
I have booked the restaurant for 1930, but I am sure we can be accommodated earlier if necessary.

Please drop me an email registering your interest!

Sensei Stone and students have also been invited.

It should be  greater day!

Regards,

Rob

The future

Well
As the year comes to a close it's time to reflect on what has gone and what is to come
We have had  success in gradings with a new yondan sandan and ikkyu
And also picked up a medel in the national championships.
We had good representation at the BKA and European jikiden seminars but,
Our numbers have fallen somewhat in the Dojo  this is to be expected in the arts that we practice
Our Dojo leader is now Wayne Edgar and Dojo secretary Rob Sidoli,
these are the organising Group together with Hugh Carroll
I have placed my trust in there judgment regarding the running of Minato Dojo's.

Next year we have got the high grade seminar with a EKF grading in the spring
The summer BKA seminars in Bath a new venue hopefully a new chapter will be written in the BKA history of seminar,
Also Oshita and Morita Sensei will be staying on after the BKA event and will be hosting the 2014
Jikiden friendship seminar in the North East of England,
And most important we have out trip to the land of the rising sun in November.
Those of you who take your Budo journey seriously and practise diligently may I thank you for your continued support.

Another successful Augsburg Seminar

Minato Dojo had a great four days at the Augsburg, Germany, training with Morita sensei and Oshita sensei. Henry Schubert sensei and Oliver Bischoff sensei organised a fantastic event, and our sincere thanks go to them (and Henry's wife Diana). attendees were from the USA, Russia, Poland, UK, Switzerland, Holland, Finland, Italy, and of course Germany!

I am not sure who else was there, but I believe there were up to 11 countries in attendance.

The Minato team, were:
Doug Evans (Sensei)
Wayne Edgar (Senpai)
Hugh Carrol (Senpai)
Steve Edgar
Dave Bentley
Rob Sidoli

along with our regional senior instructor Anna Stone (Sensei).

We were joined by members of:

Edingburgh Genbukan (Dave McLean sensei, Dave Hickey and Matt Bielby) and
Katumushi dojo (Stuart Shireff sensei, Jamie Kit, and Femi Wood).

We also had reasonable results in the Taikai.

All in all a great weekend, and I am sure the guys road trip in the people carrier, was enjoyable, and stories could be told!

It was great to see Andy Watson sensei there assisting the Shinden people, and of course our national seniors Fay Goodman and Peter West senseis.

Paul Jefferies and Wayne Edgar ... Minato bring home more silverware from the BKA Nationals!

Buy now you must all have heard the great news!

Paul Jefferies won 1st place in the Mudan division at the BKA Nationals on 13th July 2013. What a fantastic result! And ..... if I saw correctly he only dropped one flag in the individual events!

Also congrats need to go to Dojo Senpai Wayne Edgar! Bronze in the Yondan division!

A good day out, for Kris, Dave, Darren, Hugh, Phil, Steve and Rob! Thanks of course to sensei Doug Evans for his attention and hard work with such dull pencils like us!

Let's look forward to the the next event!

Paul has published some photos in other posts!

Congratulations, Steve, Phil and Paul!

We had a good summer seminar in Stevenage.

Three graded and One, Two, Three passed!

Steve Fitzpatrick did a great Makko to pen his grading, and the look on the panel's face said it all! He Passed Yondan.

Phil Kirkby passed Sandan.

Paul Jefferies passed Ikkyu.

What a great result guys!

Well done.

We are all proud of you!
